From 45 year old vines of Cabernet Franc planted due south on schist nearby in Faye D’Anjou - a parcel as Romain says that is ‘rich and full of surprises’.
The grapes were de-stemmed by hand and committed to cuve where they spent 8 months macerating with very little interference. After a gentle press over 2 days the wine was aged for a further 6 months in old barrels.
Finely structured with a broad dark fruited profile incorporating notes of tobacco and pepper. This elegant and individual rendition of the grape will age magnificently over the coming years.
