New wines from Christophe Lindenlaub

New wines have arrived from Christophe Lindenlaub!

Based up in the north of Alsace, Christophe has been running his family domaine since the early 2000s.
An absolute bundle of positivity, each vintage he somehow manages to translate his energy into the wines, creating a range of cuvées that speak as much of the place as of himself. That said, even he is feeling the strain this year. As for many of the winemakers we work with, the past few months have been extremely challenging. We spoke to Christophe recently and he told us it has been tough to stay upbeat after the hectic weather seen across France since spring — it still has not felt like summer has truly begun for many of those further north in France. The heavy rain and warmth has brought periods of wild growth of both the vines and whatever other plants are grown around them and with so much moisture comes the threat of mildew. Christophe's one saving grace is that he has not suffered as gravely as others from frost and hail.

Whilst we keep our fingers crossed for the 2021 harvest, Christophe has started to release some of his 2020 wines. In addition to a couple of brand new cuvées we have managed to secure a top-up of a few firm favourites that have now seen a little extra ageing in the Lindenlaub cellar.

Feeling especially appropriate right now is the new pet’ nat’ ‘En Liberté’, a maceration of Pinot Gris grown on limestone rich soils, on the skins for just a few days. It has terrific freshness and the short maceration has given a wonderful aromatic profile to a wine that could be enjoyed as much in the park as at the table.

All the wines are now available to purchase for home delivery via our website. For wholesale enquiries please get in touch at sales@beattieandroberts.com
