Domaine Ratapoil (Jura)
Poulsard/Trousseau/Pinot Noir • 2019
A blend of all of Raphael’s red grapes grown across Arbois on mostly clay and limestone soils. The grapes were hand destemmed and left for a short 15 day carbonic maceration before élevage in stainless steel. On opening small, tart red fruits dominate the palate, but time reveals an earthy, rounded fruit note and fine tannins. Although wonderful now, this is a wine that will only improve with age.
