Les Coteaux Kanté

Bruno Rochard (Loire)
Grolleau Noir • 2018

From low yielding vines aged up to 95 years old planted on clay and schist. The grapes were de-stemmed and macerated gently for a month before being pressed into old barrels for a year’s élevage. This shows the depth and range of Grolleau in the right hands — this has more of a classic edge than Bruno’s other cuvées, but is none the worse for it. Finely structured, with pepper and plummy fruit on the palate — an extremely elegant wine.
