From old vines planted on sandy granitic soils near his cellar in Saint-Étienne-des-Oullières. 70% of the grapes were de-stemmed and layered in cuve with the whole bunches where they macerated together for four and a half months. There was significant heat around harvest time which sped up maturity and so this is quite a different wine in character from the 2019, deep and brooding showing full fruit and fine tannins. This is drinking well now but is sure to reveal more layers over time.
