Fond Cyprès x Super 8

This Sunday 30 July, we are thrilled to be heading to Brat Climpson’s Arch for the latest Super 8 wine release - Asteroid Blanc and Asteroid Rouge, made in collaboration with Domaine Fond Cyprès in Corbières.

Fond Cyprès was created in the early 2000s by husband and wife team, Rodolphe and Laetitia. Their beautiful domaine in northern Corbières has been certified organic since 2006, with their focus on crafting elegant and vibrant wines which show off the unique terroir of this wonderful area. The wines have long been favourites of Super 8, frequently on by the glass at Kiln and Smoking Goat, so it’s a pleasure to now introduce two special cuvées created especially for their restaurants.

Back in March, a few members of the Super 8 team came with us to visit Rodolphe & Laetitia at the domaine in Corbières to taste the 2022 vintage. We walked the gorgeous vines just as buds were beginning to form, visited the cellar to taste from tank and barrel, and listened to Rodolphe talk about the joys and challenges of the past couple of vintages. Next, the Super 8 team assembled their blend from different vessels to create their own cuvées, a white and a red both called ‘Asteroid’.

The wines have now landed! Asteroid Blanc is a Grenache Blanc with bright minerality and lean fruit character resulting in a crisp, refreshing sip. Asteroid Rouge is a red-fruited juicy blend of red and white grapes with a lightness that begs to be chilled and drunk immediately.

These wines are the perfect summertime glass and will only be available at Kiln, Smoking Goat, and Brat Climpson’s Arch. Come and join us for lunch or dinner to taste the release with the winemakers from 12PM - 10PM at the Arch!
