Chenin Blanc • 2018/2019
A 50/50 blend of ’18 and ’19 vintages from a parcel of old vines growing on volcanic schist soils. The grapes in 2018 were directly pressed and aged in old barrels for a year, while those from 2019 were macerated for 10 days on the skins. The two wines were blended together and aged in barrel for the best part of a year. Incredibly aromatic, with stone fruit and exotic spice on the palate but without the tannin one might expect from the colour of it.
