Baka/Karnage (Jura)
Alicante Bouschet / Merlot • 2020
From a parcel of vines just outside Carcassonne in the Languedoc. Employing an infusion style maceration of between 2-3 weeks, with the Alicante in whole bunches and some of the Merlot directly pressed. After a short elevage the wine was bottled without a single racking. As you might imagine this shows the most density and complexity of all the cuvées but still comes in at a refreshing 12.5%. Possibly our favourite of the release and certainly the most age-worthy.
